Turnbull turns heads at the Tomago Aluminium smelter

FEDERAL Opposition Leader Malcolm Turnbull has visited the Tomago Aluminium smelter as part of his Hunter Valley trip to discuss the emissions trading scheme (ETS) with local businesses.

The mineral processing plant employs more than 1,200 workers. Turnbull claims the facility would be unable to compete internationally under the Government's ETS and would close.

The Opposition is seeking 100% protection for industries like Tomago Aluminium until there is a global agreement on a carbon price.
