The price of processing nickel

MINARA Resources chief executive Peter Johnston says any nickel miner who believes they can develop a nickel laterite processing plant for less than $4 billion is kidding themselves.

The comments come amid nickel price talks as signs of recovery appear in China's stainless steel market.

Laterites are the most technically challenging variety of nickel and coincidently make up the vast majority of the world's nickel.

Johnston says that anyone who thinks they can do it cheaper is mistaken and he has the scars to prove it.
